(10/27/05) Starting quarterback DJ Shockley suffered an MCL strain in the first half against Arkansas last week. He
will be inactive for the upcoming Florida game and Joe Tereshinski will become the starter. Red-shirt freshman Blake Barnes will be his back up this weekend.
Bulldogs hold off Razorbacks, but Shockley's season may be over (10/22/05) The Razorbacks (2-5) made it a
closer game then many expected; but much of that has to be attributed to Georgia's DJ Shockley (QB) being knocked out of the game in the second quarter with a knee injury and a battered defensive group
riddled with backups starting the game. It's too early to tell when he'll be back, but early prognosis is that he will miss the Florida game next week.Arkansas received the ball to start the
game, but it was the Bulldogs who put points on the board first. UGA scored on its first possession Bryan McClendon caught a 10-yard pass from DJ Shockley with just over 6 minutes into the contest. The Razorbacks then took their next possession to the Georgia 33, but on 4-and-1 the Bulldog defense stuffed Darren McFadden for no gain. Unfortunately the Bulldogs could not capitalize on their
next drive. The first quarter ends with the ball in the Razorback's hands. The second quarter started with the Hogs stalling on their own 28. The Dawgs take possession on their own 30. After a
couple of first down passes to Massoquoi and McClendon, the Bulldogs found themselves in Arkansas territory. On third and 14, DJ Shockley called his own number up the middle, but on the tackle he twisted his
knee and would remain sidelined the rest of the game. But the defense and special teams stepped up to ensure victory. Coutu started by punting the ball down inside the Arkansas 10 yard line.
Three plays later, Tim Jennings makes a spectacular leaping catch to intercept the football and provide Georgia with excellent field position. Joe Tereshinski, who usually comes on at the end of games to get
playing experience, was called on to lead UGA to victory. A couple of hand-offs to Thomas Brown worked up enough courage to hit Massoquoi for a 16-yard pickup down to the 1 yard line. Brannan Southerland, a
freshman from Greater Atlanta Christian high school, came in to take his only carry of the day, a 1-yard plunge into the endzone. Bulldogs up 14-0. The Razorbacks were quick to answer. Their
incredible running game lived up to their billing as Darren McFadden to the ball on at the Arkansas 29 and scampered 71 yards for a crowd-quieting moment. The remaining scoring effort of the first half was a
32-yard field goal from Coutu with about 3 seconds left on the clock. Tereshinski was not perfect in relief, but just good enough. A fumble at the UGA 40 with about 4 minutes to play in the
first half was thankfully recovered by Russ Tanner. With the Dogs up 20-13 early in the 4th quarter, Joe threw an interception at our own 35-yard line that could have proved costly if the Hogs were able to
capitalize; however, they missed a field goal attempt from 45 yards out. On the Dogs first series of the second half, Thomas Brown coughed up the ball at the UGA 17 which was recovered by
Arkansas. The Bulldogs defense came up big again, holding the Razorbacks to a 33-yard field goal. Coutu would counter for Georgia on the very next series. At the end of the 3rd quarter, the score was 20-10
good guys, but Arkansas had the ball at the UGA 18. Once again the Bulldogs did not surrender a touchdown in the red zone thus far today and the Hogs had to settle for a 35-yard 3-pointer. After
Tereshinski threw an interception at the UGA 40, the defense once again held the Razorbacks in check and a 45-yard field goal attempt was missed. The Bulldogs would counter with another Coutu field goal --
23-13. It was the Felix Jones and Darren McFadden show the next series for Arkansas. Jones caught a 19-yard pass on a 3rd-and-7 and followed that with a 36-yard run down to the Georgia 7. From
there, McFadden stepped in and carried the ball three times with the last being a 1-yard rush for a touchdown. Score 23-20. UGA was forced give the ball back to Arkansas on their next series.
With just over 2 minutes to play, Arkansas would pull off the upset if they could march the ball 94 yards for a touchdown, though they'd be happy to force overtime with a fieldgoal. But it wasn't going to
happen as the Bulldogs' defense held on 4th-and-long at the Arkansas 4 and the UGA winning streak would be kept alive for at least one more week. Final score -- UGA 23, Arkansas 20.
Razorbacks to miss homecoming dance (10/21/05) UGA's homecoming is this weekend as the
Bulldogs play host to Arkansas. However, the Razorbacks won't be the ones dancing at the end of the second half as the Dawgs will etch their seventh win of the year tomorrow afternoon. I've
heard all week where we have to watch out for the Razorback running game. There's no denying they have a strong rushing attack with two ball carriers in the SEC top 10 (according to the latest data on
SECSports.com) and currently rushing for over 260/yards per game. However, that's all they have. Arkansas ranks last in the SEC in passing yards at 135.8/game and they have thrown more interceptions than
touchdowns (7-6). Georgia on the other hand is second in rushing offense with 189.7 yards/game and first in passing offense with 264.3 yards per game. Shockley has thrown 11 TDs compared to
only 4 interceptions. Defensively, Arkansas doesn't stand a chance against this Bulldog team. The Razorbacks are 10th in the SEC in passing defense allowing over 230 yards/game (UGA surrenders
just under 200) and 11th in the SEC in rushing defense allowing rushers to gain nearly 190 yards/game (UGA is 2nd in the SEC by allowing only 91.2 yards/game). The Dogs should play towards their
defensive strength and let the Razorbacks try to beat them through the air -- something that Arkansas has not been able to do successfully at all this year. Bulldogs should win handily -- 35-10. Will UGA be the Auburn of this year? (10/16/05) After a perfect season
last year, Auburn was on the outside looking in when it came to the BCS standings. If UGA is able to subdue the ailing Gators in two weeks and sneak past the Auburn Tigers next month, the Bulldogs should
remain undefeated during the regular season this year. They would likely face Alabama (6-0, 4-0) for the SEC championship to be held December 3rd in the Georgia Dome.Alabama has tough games
remaining against Tennessee, LSU, and their final game at Auburn. If the two teams were to go undefeated this year and meet for the SEC Championship, will the BCS snub the SEC again this year? Ahead of them
in the BCS and other polls will likely be USC (who barely squeaked by top-ten opponent Notre Dame), UTexas (who has only played one top-20 team thus far), and Virginia Tech (who has only played a weak #15
Georgia Tech team). UGA has beaten #8 Tennessee and Alabama trounced #5 Florida. Where's the love for the SEC? UGA doubles Vandy, wins 34-17 (10/16/05) The Bulldogs started slow, only 61 yards in the first quarter, but finished strong in Nashville to etch their 6th victory of
the season. UGA got on the board first with a Kregg Lumpkin run from 9 yards out just minutes into the second quarter. The Commodores evened up the score on their next series with a 12-play,
80-yard drive capped with a TD run from about 4 yards out. However, UGA would answer on their remaining two possessions of the first half. With the score knotted at 7, the Bulldogs looked to
Thomas Brown to get things going. After two rushes for a combined 9 yards, Brown legged out a huge 41-yard rush to the Vandy 28-yard line. Shockley then went to the air and found the huge tight end, Leonard
Pope. It looked like a touchdown, but the referee rightly ruled him down on the Vandy 1-yard line. On the next play, the Dogs found the endzone, but a holding call brought the Red&Black back another 10
yards. Two plays later, DJ Shockley threw a TD-pass to Brannan Southerland. The Bulldogs were to also add a field goal as the first half expired. Score at half -- 17-7. The Bulldogs defense came
up big to start the second half by forcing a 4-an-out. Thomas Flowers had a great punt return of 22 yards which gave the offense great starting position from mid-field. In 8 plays and less than 3 minutes off
the clock, DJ Shockley found Mohamed Massoquoi for a 6-yard TD. Dogs now up 24-7. Vandy would answer seven plays later with a 14-yard Jay Cutler pass to Marlon White to only put the Commodores
down by 10. The Bulldogs and Commodores would also trade field goals in the 3rd quarter. Starting the final quarter, the Bulldogs were up by ten, 27-17, and in great field position following an excellent
special teams play with just moments left in the third -- Tyson Browning blocked a Vandy punt. A few plays later the Bulldogs would score again on an 18-yard strike from Shockley to Bryan McClendon. The
officials went to the replay booth and surprisingly did not rule an incompleted pass; even though it appeared as if the ball clearly struck the ground first. No complaints here. Dogs up 34-17.
The rest of the quarter saw drives end on downs (2) , punts (2), and interceptions (2). Toward the end of the game, Richt pulled Shockley so as to give Joe Tereshinski some valuable playing time.
Unfortunately, Joe was 0/2 in passing attempts. Notes: UGA rushed for 148 total yards, but have not had a 100-yard rusher since the Louisiana-Monroe game. Shockley threw for 3 touchdowns and 298
yards. The Bulldogs blocked their first kick of the season. UGA is 2nd in the SEC in points scored at 32.2 per game and are 1st in passing with an average of 264.3 yards/game. Brandon Coutu leads the SEC in
scoring with an average of 10.2 per game. The sophomore kicker has mad 13-16 field goal attempts and is a perfect 22-22 on PATs.
Knoxille to Nashville, Dogs ready to fight again in Tennessee (10/14/05) Last week the Bulldogs travelled to
Knoxville to face the Tennessee Volunteers. This week they head to Nashville, home of the Grand Ole Opry, to challenge the Vanderbilt Commodores at 7PM EST. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and can be
heard on WSB radio AM750 as well as WGNC 106.1FM.The perennial cellar dwellers in the SEC East, the Commodores surprised everyone by going undefeated through the first four games of the season.
The Commodores are now 4-2 with talk of their first bowl appearance in over 20 years still in the air. Vandy needs just two more wins to become bowl eligible; but one of those wins won't be tomorrow. Vandy is coming off a terrible loss to LSU last week (34-6); but the defeat at the hands of Middle Tennessee the week before is likely a deeper wound. The Bulldogs, riding high after a great win
against UT, will take advantage of Vandy's wound and shove the ball deep into the chest of the Commodores. Last year the score was 33-3 in favor of the Bulldogs. This week the Bulldogs should
win handily, but Vandy may get a late TD to give the appearance they were at one point in the game. Impressive win keeps Dogs undefeated (10/8/05) The Bulldogs defense held Tennessee's offense to 14 points while Georgia scored 27 points to keep the Bulldogs in sole position
of first place in the SEC East at 5-0. This was the third straight victory for the Bulldogs at Leyland Stadium; a stat that Tennessee did not want to see.The Bulldogs (5-0) scored on their
third possession of the first quarter after marching down the field 84 yards. The drive, which left just :01 seconds on clock in the first quarter, was capped by a 1-yard touchdown run from Brannan
Southerland. The Bulldogs had the ball first and ten from the Tennessee 3-yard line with under a minute to play in the half, but couldn't punch the ball into the endzone. The Dawgs would carry a 10-0 lead
into the locker rooms at halftimeafter a Brandon Coutu field goal from 18 yards out as time expired. On the Dawgs first possession of the second half, Shockley and company moved the ball from
the UGA 30 down into the redzone with a first-and-ten from the Tennessee 15. The Bulldogs were stymied from reaching the endzone again and settled for another Coutu field goal; this time from 25-yards. Late in the third quarter, a DJ Shockley pass was picked off by the Volunteers at the UGA 35. A 34-yard return had UT poised for a touchdown from the UGA 1 with under a minute left in the
quarter. Tennessee quarterback, Rick Clausen, called his own number and scored to pull the Volunteers to with 6 with 15 minutes to play. The Bulldogs next drive would be halted at the Tennesee
10 after DJ Shockley fumbled the ball trying to pick up some extra yardage. Three plays later, however, the Volunteers gave the ball back to us after a good hit by Tra Battle to UT's Chris Hannon. UGA
started in Tennessee territory at the 45; but couldn't move the ball past the 37. On 4th and 2, Richt calls a time out and opts to punt the ball instead of trying a long field goal. This decision proved to
be the game winner for the Bulldogs. Ely-Kelso's punt was downed by UGA at the Tennessee 1-yard line. The Volunteers managed to get the ball out to the 8-yard line before having to punt the ball
from their own endzone. The punt travelled 46 yards, but Thomas Flowers' return was a bit longer, 54 yards, and proved to be a dagger to the hearts of the Tennessee faithful. The Bulldogs were now up 20-7
with just over 8 minutes to play. The Bulldogs kept the Vols on their half of the field on Tennessee's next possession and forced them to give the ball back to us with just over 6 minutes to
play. The entire next drive for the Dawgs was all Thomas Brown. He carried the ball on all 9 plays which ended with an 18-yard dash to the endzone with under 2 minutes remaining. The Volunteers
2-minute offense proved effective. Within 1:32, they rattled off eight plays with the final play of the game being a 24-yard TD pass from Clausen. Final score: Bulldogs 27, Volunteers 14.
UGA-Tennessee -- best game this weekend (10/7/05) Where else can you find the 2
top-ten teams (#5 and #8) go at each other this weekend? The Dogs head to Knoxville tomorrow to take on the Volunteers of Tennessee. If Georgia wins this game, SEC-East nemesis Tennessee will likely be out
of the running for the SEC title, and a win will boost UGA to a 5-0 record (3-0 in the SEC). Given Florida's loss to Alabama last week, the Bulldogs would remain the top SEC East school with a win.UGA is favored based on per game statistics:
17th in the NCAAs in total yards (472.3), 30th in passing yards (274.3), 24th in rushing yards (198), and 30th in points (33) compared to UT's 346 total yards (93rd),
234.5 passing yards (69th), 111.5 rushing yards (88th), and 20.3 points scored (96th). However, Tennessee is always tough at home, especially against SEC foes.
Bulldogs game time moved up (9/23/05) The UGA-Mississippi State game has been moved up from a 9:12PM EST
kick-off time to 7:45PM EST in order to be shown on ESPN instead of ESPN2. If you have tickets, please be aware of the change. Bulldogs vs. Indians (9/17/05) Bulldogs lead 17-0 at half. D.J. Shockley runs for a 28-yard scamper for a TD in the first quarter. A 25-yard pass to Bilder
and a Coutu field goal wrapped up the scoring in the first half.Dogs light it up the second half; win 44-7. LA-Monroe will allow Jones to rest
(9/17/05) Thomas Jones' brilliant game last week came with a slight price. He sustained a mild shoulder injury. As a
result, Jones will be resting this weekend and giving Ware & Lumpkin the rushing duties. \No worries though, this is the perfect time for a game with LA-Monroe. Not only will Jones' be able
to rest, but Shockley will have a chance to get back to his opening day form. Should be a cake-walk for the Bulldogs. Fullback verbally commits to UGA (9/14/05) The Dawgpost
reports that Fred Munzenmaier, a fullback at Norcross High School, has verbally committed to the university after receiving a scholarship offer on Monday. Fred is considered one of the top fullbacks in the state and has been highly recruited by many prestigious south-eastern schools. The 6'2", 250 lb fullback is noted for his toughness to bring down and his receiving skills.
Dawgs-Gamecocks review (9/10/05) Surprisingly, neither team
scored in the first quarter. However, the Bulldogs were poised to score starting the second as Danny Ware ended the first quarter with a 17-yard run to the South Carolina 26. A few plays later, DJ Shockley
ran 15 yards and hurdled over a few SC defenders for a touchdown. The first big mistake from Shockley this season occured on the Bulldogs second possession of the second half after moving . On
2nd and 11, Shockley telegraphed a pass and a Gamecock defender tipped it away to teammate Jonathan Joseph who took off 43 yards for a touchdown. The extra point attempt hit the upright and bounced
helplessly away. Later in the half, South Carolina managed a field goal to go up 9 to 7. The Bulldogs marched down the field late in the quarter and were in great position to take the lead going
into halftime, but DJ Shockley underthrew his receiver which led to another interception, this time in the endzone. Early in the 3rd quarter, UGA picked off Blake Mitchell at the Gamecock 32.
After a 2-yard loss by Danny Ware, he came back the next play with an incredible effort to move the ball 14 yards for a first down at the SC 20. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs could only get 5 more yards in the
next 3 plays and retook the lead with a Brandon Coutu field goal with just under 9 minutes to play in the quarter. Thomas Brown easily danced it in from 5 yards out with about 11:30 to play in
the 4th quarter. After a Coutu extra point, the Bulldogs now lead 17-9. In fact, the Bulldogs rushing game is running all over the Gamecocks. With 11 minutes to play, Brown has rushed for 137 yards on 19
carries, Ware has 46 yards on 10 carries, and the entire Bulldog offense has rushed a total of 216 yards and 2 scores. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs' pass coverage collapsed on the Gamecocks' next
possession, allowing them to march down the field in 2 minutes for an easy touchdown reception. South Carolina went for 2 to tie the game, but the pass was too far from the out-streched arms of the intended
receiver. UGA now up 17-15. UGA just converted a huge 3rd and 23 from their own 4 yard line with a 27-yard pass to McClendon. Four minutes to go and UGA is driving. Nothing came of the drive,
and Spurrier was given a chance to orchestra a late drive with just over a minute to go. The Dawgs were up to the task by tipping the ball on one down and sacking Mitchell on 3rd down which set up a 4th and
19. Forced to go for it on 4th down, Spurrier resorted to some trickery with a flea flicker, but the Bulldogs stopped the Gamecocks about 5 yards shy of a first down. Shockley twice took a knee to end the
game and secure a victory for the undefeated Georgia Bulldogs. The Bulldogs defensively did well -- allowing under 250 yards passing and 1 TD, but only giving up 44 rushing yards. Surprisingly,
the Gamecocks' defense stepped up and held the UGA passing game in check -- only 111 yards. However, SC could not stop the run. Thomas Brown set a career best 146 yards rushing, and the entire team combined
for over 240 yards on the ground. So much for my prognostician capabilities -- Shockley didn't perform well, and the Gamecocks' scored off an interception -- but more importantly, the Bulldogs
won. Spurrier proved me wrong with this ability to lead this South Carolina team. He had only one defeat in his 12 previous games against UGA. Richt and company are now 1-1 against Spurrier; but Spurrier is
11-2 against the Bulldogs. UGA vs. South Carolina match-up (9/9/05)
Last week the Bulldogs racked up 574 total offensive yards and 48 points while holding a nationally ranked opponent to 292 total yards and 13 points. In the Gamecocks meeting against Central Florida last
Saturday, South Carolina totalled 362 offensive yards and 24 points while holding Central Florida to 341 yards and 15 points. The Bulldogs victory over #18 Boise St. last week was an incredible
``coming out" party for D.J. Shockley which the entire NCAA noticed. Before D.J. was taken out late in the third quarter to give the backups some playing time, he had already accumulated 289 passing yards,
85 rushing yards and a total of 6 touchdowns. The defense was also stellar by holding the most prolific scoring offense in the NCAAs for the past 10 years to only 13 points. Blake Mitchell, a
sophomore from La Grange, leads the South Carolina team. Against Central Florida, he had a nice showing with 330 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. However, the Gamecocks displayed an anemic running game,
rushing for a total of 32 yards, 20 by a wide receiver on an end-around. Defensively, the Gamecocks did well, but against winless team from last year, they didn't sparkle. Spurrier may be a
great coach, but you won't see it this week. The Bulldogs' defense will focus on putting pressure on Mitchell and filling the passing lanes as the Gamecocks have yet to show any rushing prowess. There should
be many three-and-outs for South Carolina tomorrow. As for the Bulldogs, they will pick up where they left off, but likely not score so easily. The Bulldogs' have had to undergo Lou Holtz
banter about how the `cocks are going to top Georgia this year; well, it ain't gonna happen. This week, we expect the Dawgs to top Carolina by at least 20 points in the Bulldogs' first SEC meeting of the
season. Our prediction, UGA 35, SC 13. UGA rattles Zabransky early and breaks the Broncos (9/3/05) In the first quarter, the Bulldogs forced three turnovers -- two interceptions and a fumble, all committed by quarterback, Jared Zabransky. The two interceptions led to
two UGA touchdowns -- the first a 14-yard run by DJ Shockley with 12:57 remaining, and the second a 40-yard pass from Shockley to Kenneth Harris, a red-shirt freshman out of Cherryville, NC, with 8:56
remaining. In the second quarter, UGA picked up where they left off in the first. The Bulldogs' defense forced the Broncos to bring their 2nd-string quarterback, Taylor Tharp, into the game
after forcing Zabransky into two more interceptions and another fumble which led to 10 more Georgia points. Brandon Coutu converted a 43-yard field goal attempt with 8:40 remaining in the first half.
DJ Shockley hit Danny Ware on a 19-yard TD pass with :42 left in the half. In the third quarter, the Bulldogs received the kickoff and proceeded to move down the field quickly. Shockley's
55-yard TD pass to Martrez Milner capped a 68-yard drive in less than 1:30 minutes into the second half. A three-and-out on the Broncos next possession gave the ball back to Georgia who once again moved
quickly down the field (80 yards in less than a minute) for another Shockley TD pass -- this time a 31-yard strike to Sean Bailey. With 7:11 to go in the third, the Broncos finally got on the
board. Backup QB Taylor Tharp was able to move the ball 78 yards in 8 plays for a 3 yard touchdown run by Lee Marks. What's shocking thus far in the game is the Bulldogs have kept one of the nation's highest
scoring offense in the past decade (40+ points/game) to only 1 score. The Bulldogs scored again in the third with a 5-yard TD pass from Shockley to Sean Bailey. With that touchdown throw,
Shockley ties a UGA record with 5-TD passes in one game. On their next possession, Richt put Joe Tereshinski III into the game to get some playing experience. His first passing attempt of his career was a
10-yard completion to Tony Milton. In the 4th, Tereshinski moved the ball down inside the Boise 10-yard line, but had to settle for a Couto fieldgoal. Dawgs up 48-7. With 8:13 left
in the game, Boise State scored another touchdown. However, they mishandled the snap on the extra point and failed to convert it.
UGA vs. Boise State today at 5:30PM EST (9/3/05) This should be the best game on the tube this Saturday. The
18th ranked Broncos of Boise State come prancing into Sanford Stadium today with something to prove. They have gone undefeated in the regular season the past two years without so much of a glance from BCS
consideration. The Broncos only loss in the past two years came in last year's Liberty Bowl in a 44-40 contest with Louisville.Boise State has a lethal QB in Jared Zabransky. Last year he threw
for 16 TDs and nearly 3000 yards. He also ran the ball 130 times for 326 yards and 13 scores. The Bulldogs also have something to prove. After losing their starting quarterback, wide receivers,
and key defensive players is this team going the way like the tail end of Lou Holtz' career or will we pick up where we left off from the Outback Bowl? The Bulldog Nation will have all eyes
focused on how DJ Shockley controls the pace of the offense and how Willie Martinez, the Dawgs new Defensive Coordinator, has the defense prepared for this season. We've all heard the hype about DJ Shockley
for the past few years; now we'll finally get to see him start and likely finish the entire season. His quickness is proven, but can he get the passing game going? We'll soon find out with kickoff less than
9 hours away. Bulldogs 2005 Offense (8/23/05) QB: D.J.
Shockley, who had been David Greene's backup for 3 years, will do well in 2005. A bit more mobile than Greene, expect Richt to employ more offensive sets, especially the bootleg. If the Dawgs are up big, the
versatile Joe Tereshinski III could see some valuable playing time.RB/FB: At running back, we have two experienced runners in Danny Ware and Thomas Brown; both are sophomores. Expect Brown to
carry most of the load; but Ware will get quite a few exchanges. Kregg Lumpkin, who missed all of last season with a knee injury, looks a bit rusty early on in training camp but seems to be improving. Tony
Milton should get the nod at fullback. With the less experience in the receiving core and at QB, expect the backs to see more work this season. WR: Gone are Freddie Gibson and Reggie Brown; and
unfortunately no two wideouts are really standing out from the rest. Junior Sean Bailey and sophomore T.J. Gartrell, who only caught 1 pass last year, will likely be called upon to fill such big shoes. Until
someone steps up to be the #2 receiver alongside Bailey, there will likely be a wideout shuffle for the first few games. TE: Leonard Pope is a monster. The 6'7" junior from Americus was a big
target for David Greene especially late in the year catching TD passes in 5 of the last 6 games last year. In camp this year he once again seems to stand out amongst the rest. He should have a great year and
will likley be Shockley's ``Go-To Guy". If Pope has another great year and barring injury, Leonard will likely forego his senior year and opt for the NFL. OL: The offensive line, which consisted
of freshmen and sophomores two years back, are now entering their 3rd and 4th years on the squad and should protect Shockley should he stay in the pocket. Max Jean-Gilles returns at offensive tackle, and
Russ Tanner (C) will likely be a finalist again for the Rimington Award given to the nation's best center. Former Bulldog David Pollack signs with Cincinnati
(8/17/05) The 2005 Lombardi Award winner, David Pollack, ended a 19-day hold-out with the Bengals today by
signing a 5 year deal worth $13 million. The Bengals first-round draft pick of 2005 will likely be playing outside linebacker instead of defensive end, his position at UGA.If you tune into a
Bengals game this year, look for a handful of UGA footballers on the squad. David Pollack (LB) wears #99, Odell Thurman (MLB) wears #51, Jeremy Thomas (FB) wears #39, and Robert Geathers (DE) wears #91.
Thurman, Geathers, and Pollack will likely be starters at their positions. GABulldogs changes hosting companies
(8/12/05) After a few days of downtime, we are now back up and running with our new hosting company -- webhostingbuzz.com. With the move, we have recreated the
guestbook so as to start fresh for the 2005 football season. Please sign the guestbook and show your support for the Dawgs. Also, any interest in a football forum this year? The new hosting company has a number of forum options to choose from. If you're
interested in participating in such a forum, please email me at andy@gabulldogs.com
so I can see a ``show of hands" so-to-speak. Good Read (8/3/05) A great editorial appeared today (8/3) in the Gwinnett Daily Post by Bill Shipp regarding the need to ``bring glory back to ol' Georgia"
, and not only to the athletic program. Green suspended after weekend arrest
(8/3/05) Sophomore fullback Chase Green was suspended by Coach Richt today as a result of Green's underage
drinking arrest over the weekend. Green's one-game suspension will see him miss the season opener with Boise State on September 3rd. Green will also be required to participate in an alcohol-awareness course
and perform community service. Additional disciplinary actions are not out of the question. Football Schedule posted
(7/23/05) The 2005 Football schedule
has been posted on the site. I've also included links to where you can find tickets. Due to possible television broadcast coverage, most game times are still to be determined. Photographers wanted (7/23/05)
If any UGA student wishes to publish their photos on GABulldogs.com, please write to me at andy@gabulldogs.com. Photos of sporting events, campus life, parties, etc. are all welcome. Shout Out to Ms. Theiss
(7/23/05) Met a lovely lady this afternoon who will be heading to UGA
this Fall. Ms. Theiss (I want to say her name was Shallia (?)) stopped by and picked up a futon I had for sale. If you happen to see her on campus, please give her a big Bulldog welcome.
Still here (7/23/05) Things have been
very hectic around the home office so I haven't had a chance to post in a while. The company I'm with is moving my position to Dallas and they've been trying to get me to go to, but they don't realize that
Georgia is my home.A lot has happened with the Bulldogs since early June that I haven't updated you on. However, as things settle down on the job front and things get heated up on the football
field expect plenty of posts to come. UGA golfers earn NCAA Title
(6/5/05) UGA defeated Georgia Tech by 11 strokes yesterday to earn the NCAA Men's Golf Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, MD. Georgia
coach Chris Haack was also named the Golf Coaches Association's winner of the the National Coach of the Year award. This is UGA's second national championship in men's golf. Haack saw his third
season team become national champs in 1999. Haack is a 1978 graduate from nearby Newnan High School. White gets the boot after DUI (6/5/05) Sr. Derrick White (LB) was arrested near Union City, GA on June 4th for DUI. On
Saturday, Derrick finds himself minus his #53 jersey. This is Derrick's second run-in with the law in 2 months. After the G-Day game on April 10th, Derrick White and teammate Kedric Golsten
were arrested following a barroom brawl. Go DAWGS!!!! Sic-em!!! |
